3 doors, 1 motion detector, 1 keypad, 1 siren, 1 control panel, 1 lawn sign, 10 window stickers, and a certificate to get a home insurance discount…How much is all that worth if they are offering free installation too? Is $34.95 a month too much to pay for monitoring?

We got 2 doors 2 motion detectors a monitored smoke alarm and all the rest for free installation. The monitored smoke alarm gives you a better discount on your insurance than just burglar alarms alone. we pay 29.95 for monthly monitoring

If you go with adt or one of the other corporate guys, you can get all of that for 99 bucks and that sounds right for monitoring. the catch with it is the monitoring is usually a contract for two to three years and if you try to cancel it , you have to pay out the full amount of the contract because that is how they pay for all that equipment they are giving you for 99 bucks. as far as the monitoring price, 35 bucks is the average going rate for all monitoring that i know of. You get what you pay for though. The guys who install these 99 dollar systems do about three of them a day and basically just slap them in so you are more likely to have issues that will amount to service visits from the installers a couple of times to fine tune what they just slapped up there. If you want a professional installation of a home security system that will last a good 15-20 years, you will go with a reputable diamond certified local alarm company instead of adt or brinks. i worked for adt and now i work for one such local alarm company and there is a major difference in quality. my company’s monitoring rate is 25 bucks not 35 but the initial cost of everything is a bit more than 99 bucks.
